Year I got hooked on Saints Don't recall the year, but I was mesmerised by Le God's superb skills. Saints are good at developing young players, like Shearer (in the past), Le Tissier, Jones, Bridge and Fernandes instead of relying on big-name signings.
Why Saints A number of reasons: 1. Le God's sublime skills. 2. Soton fought many admirable relegation battles and often beat some of the biggest clubs like Man Utd, Arnesal and Newcastle (Saints regularly beat Newcastle at The Dell, I wonder why?) Le God not only scored goals but inch-perfect goals that let people admire him, remember him, praise him. 3. Le God's loyalty and faithfulness to the club is another factor. My favourite Le Tiss goals include the goal that he scored direct from a corner kick, and the 89th min winner against Arsenal in the last game at the Dell!
